Our Business Faculty Members Honored with "Hakan Orbay Research Award"

Assistant Prof. Ümit Yılmaz from the Faculty of Business at Özyeğin University was honored with the “Hakan Orbay Research Award” in the PhD Student category by the Sabancı Business School. Hakan Orbay Research Award is presented annually to encourage young researchers to undertake original research in finance and microeconomics. Assistant Prof. Ümit Yılmaz applied for the award with his paper “Why do firms borrow from Foreign Banks?” and received his PhD Student Award during an online awards ceremony.

Meanwhile, Assistant Prof. Begüm Güney from the Faculty of Business at Özyeğin University has also been honored with the “Hakan Orbay Research Award 2021” in the “Young Researcher” category in recognition of the paper “Games with Switching Costs and Endogenous References “ she co-authored with Michael Richter. Assistant Prof. Begüm Güney’s paper has also been accepted for publication by Theoretical Economics. The paper presentation and award ceremony will take place over the coming days at Sabancı University.
